Holding Light

There are moments in life that invite us to slow down—to become still enough to notice the beauty that has been there all along. Holding Light is a reflection on those quiet moments of contemplation.

As the model gently cradles the teapot, she seems to hold more than a simple object. Bathed in soft light, the vessel becomes a symbol of warmth, nourishment, and the unseen gifts we carry within us. The light spilling across the porcelain and onto her face suggests that what we hold close has the power to illuminate us from the inside out.

I was drawn to the peaceful rhythm of her pose and the intimacy of the moment. There is no dramatic gesture, only quiet attention. In a world that often celebrates noise and motion, I wanted to paint the beauty of stillness—the kind that restores the soul and reminds us that light is often found in the simplest of moments.

For me, Holding Light is an invitation to pause, to reflect, and to recognize the gentle grace that is present when we make space to receive it.
