Life doesn't have to be extravagant to be beautiful.

A handful of daisies gathered from the garden, a few lemons waiting on the table, and a favorite blue-and-white vase are enough to remind us that joy often arrives quietly. We simply have to notice it.

The lemons represent the zest of life—that spark of gratitude and curiosity that keeps our hearts awake. Their bright color draws the eye, but it is the daisies, freely opening and gently shedding their petals, that tell the deeper story. Beauty isn't found in holding on forever. Sometimes it is found in living fully, even as the seasons change.

As I arranged these simple objects, I thought about how the richest lives are rarely built from extraordinary moments alone. More often they are shaped by ordinary mornings, shared meals, fresh flowers from the yard, and the choice to delight in what has been placed before us.

The Zest of Living is an invitation to embrace life with gratitude, to savor the sweetness and even the tartness that make it complete. When we choose to live with zest, even the simplest moments become extraordinary.
